Summer Reflections

A Season of Paint, Purpose & Passion

Summer 2025 has been a whirlwind. Or in the case of last night, a tsunami warning! For the first time ever, I had to cancel one of our sold-out Paint & Sip nights at Aloha Beer Company. Not because of rain, low sign-ups, or a missing shipment of brushes… but because the Pacific decided to make some waves, quite literally. Talk about art getting interrupted by acts of nature. We’re rescheduling, of course, but it was a pretty wild reminder that I’ll always be riding the waves of this creative life in more ways than one.

Looking back, I can honestly say this has been the most action-packed and fulfilling summer of my career. One mural in June was quickly followed by two more in July. I’ve been bouncing between California and Hawai‘i, living out of paint-splattered suitcases and rolling ladders onto job sites like a one-woman art department. And August? It’s already stacked with three more mural projects. My calendar is packed, my watch stopped working (still pondering what that means), and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Of course, murals are just part of it. Every week, when I’m not on a lift or elbow-deep in exterior primer, I’m back home in Honolulu scrubbing dried paint from my cuticles just in time to host our Paint & Sip nights at Aloha Beer Company and Mangiamo by 604. These nights have become such a joyful constant, full of laughs, creativity, and community. It's been such a gift to see every event sell out, to watch people who haven’t painted since grade school leave feeling proud of what they created. Even when I’m exhausted, these gatherings recharge me in the best way.

Some of the most meaningful moments this summer weren’t on walls or in breweries, though. I had the honor of partnering with the American Cancer Society to offer art therapy sessions, a quiet, powerful reminder of how healing creative expression can be. I also teamed up with the Hawaiian Humane Society to teach a painting class that raised money for unhomed dogs. That event filled my heart in ways I didn’t expect — dogs, art, and community? Yes, please. More of that.

This summer has been a beautiful kind of chaos. Long days. Early mornings. Paint spills. Spontaneous flights. Canceled events. But also pure joy. It’s been the kind of busy that feels right, the kind of tired that feels earned. Every mural, every class, every brushstroke has brought me closer to the life I’ve always dreamed of living.

I’m heading into the rest of 2025 with an open heart and a fully-loaded paint cart. If the next few months bring even half the energy and inspiration this summer has, I’ll be thrilled. I’ll keep showing up, giving it my all, and creating wherever I can. Because this ; the movement, the mess, the meaning ; is everything I ever hoped for.

If you’re reading this ; whether you're down the street or across the globe ; and you’ve got a wall that’s calling out for something beautiful, let’s talk. I want to keep painting murals and traveling wherever the art leads me. Whether it’s a tiny corner or a massive facade, I’m eager to bring color, meaning, and life to your space. I pour everything I have into every project, and I’m determined to make you fall in love with whatever I create. Let’s make something unforgettable together.

Thanks to every person who’s supported, painted, donated, shown up, or simply cheered me on. You’re part of this journey, and I’m beyond grateful. With aloha & acrylics, Amie
